Get It Right, Get It Tight: Gym Boss Timer

Hey Guys!

So, I decided to start sharing some of what I do when I work out or some of the things that I use to work out in case you guys are interested.  The Gym Boss Timer is basically what it says it is, a timer, but it is not your ordinary timer.  This timer comes with a special feature so that you can do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

With this training you basically do a round (2 minutes for example) of exercise (push ups, jumping jacks, kick backs) or running where you push yourself to the max and then a round of the same exercise at a slower pace or rest (for 1 minute for example).  It is a great way to get your heart rate going and therefore a great way to lose weight!

The best thing about HIIT is that it is a cardiovascular exercise that you do for a short period of time. So if you are doing the above rounds of 2 minutes intense and 1 minute rest, you can do this cycle for 20 minutes. In other words in a shorter period of time compared to running for say 40 minutes you are burning as much calories or more, even long after the work out!

SOOOO, I am so uber duper (I don't care if that is a real word or how to spell it, YES I am that excited!) excited for the Pink Friday 4 Lipstick.  Now after some research,  I hear that it will be available tomorrow (Nov. 19) for MAC Pro members and then Nov. 26th for the general public.  Either way, they will be available for 4 consecutive Fridays after their release date.  Apparently, more information will be released on Nov. 22nd...

Feature Fridays: Kevyn Aucoin

It has been sometime since I have posted on my blog, sorry for those who have been checking and have not seen any updates! Anyway, I want to introduce a new series that I will be featuring on my blog called Feature Fridays.  These posts will be about people who inspire me and those who I am just interested in. I decided to open up Feature Fridays with a post about a make-up artist that has inspired me and that has taught me a lot about make-up, even after his death.

Kevyn Aucoin, during his time, was one of the most sought after make-up artist in the field.  He did the make-up of many celebrities, in such ways that enhanced their natural beauty.  His goal was to make people feel beautiful and this can be seen in his book, Face Forward that was published in 2000.  Even though this book is 10 years old, it is amazing the way his techniques are still so relevant and timeless...this is what made Kevyn Aucoin distinguished.  His timeless techniques and tips in make-up tips are to envy as he makes it look so easy, but it is respected because of his talent and wonderful eye for looking at each of his clients individually and doing their make-up accordingly.  We will always remember Kevyn Aucoin and he will always be the best and most respected in my eyes.
